Each year, the FSBDC Network holds its Annual Small Business Briefing: A Capitol-Business Experience in Tallahassee to recognize the achievements and contributions of Florida's most dynamic entrepreneurs and to demonstrate the critical role the SBDCs play in fostering a positive Florida environment within which entrepreneurs can form, sustain and grow successful businesses. At the Awards Reception, a member from both the House and the Senate is recognized and presented with the FSBDC's Annual Small Business Dividend$ Award for supporting issues that foster the success of small business. The FSBDC utilizes the Florida Chamber of Commerce's Report Card system, which tracks the voting records of legislators on identified business and economic development issues as adopted by the Chamber Legislative Policy Council and its Board of Directors, in selecting the award winners. Invited attendees include Florida Senators and Representatives, Florida Congressional delegation, key officials from the State University System of Florida, representatives from significant Florida Associations and Organizations, and other influential business and community leaders.
