| In May 2003, Lewis Attardo accepted an appointment at the University of West Florida to serve as Statewide Program Manager for the newly created Florida SBDC Network Business Technology Commercialization Program (BTC) www.floridasbdc.com/specialprograms/technology.asp.
Lew came to the FSBDCN with over twenty years of experience designing and managing business development programs in FL, PA, GA, SC and CA, and as a consultant to physical and bioscience companies in the US and in Europe. Lew has also served as a consultant on strategies for building knowledge-based economies for several other states, universities and international organizations, including UNESCO, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. He has also authored several papers and served as an instructor and as a keynote speaker on Strategies for Building Knowledge-based Economies and Entrepreneurship. Lew currently serves on the several boards and committees including Enterprise Florida’s Technology, Entrepreneurship and Capital Council, Northwest Florida Venture Forum, the ASBDC Technology Interest Group and Northwest Florida Bioscience Consortium. He is also a Peer Reviewer for the federal SBIR/STTR Programs, chairman of the Peer Review Committee for New Zealand’s Technology Innovation Partnership Program, and he has served as an officer on the boards of several technology companies. Lew is a graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania where he majored in economics. The BTC is the primary point of contact within the FSBDC Network for information and other resources to support entrepreneurs engaged in R&D and/or manufacturing in Florida.
